Better than expected

Center Dash Mount

After my experience with a ProClip mount in my other car (a 1990 Mercedes W126), this mount far surpassed my expectations. Instead of sliping upward(!) into a panel gap and resting on the sloped surface of the dash, this mount snaps into _two_ horizontal panel gaps and thus has good vertical support. With my large LG V20 inserted, it doesn't sag or come loose, even when traveling on very bumpy roads. I wasn't sure how much it would occlude the air vent in the dash but I haven't noticed any difference in cooling. This mount is well worth what I paid for it.

Very helpful for larger devices

Vertical Extension Plate

I needed this in addition to a dual-device vertical extension to accommodate my large phone mount and SiriusXM receiver.

Adequate for two smaller devices

Vertical Extension Plate for Two Devices

If one of your devices is a phablet or larger GPS, you'll likely need to add a vertical extension plate. Not unexpected but something to be aware of.

This car deserves better

Center Dash Mount

The lower part of the mount slips up under the leather bezel above the center stack, just above the hazard switch, and is easy to insert. The upper part, though, uses an adhesive pad and just rests on the dash. Hot weather often results in me finding the whole mount lying on the floor when I go out to the car. The W126 is one of the best-made cars in history and it deserves something better than this.

In spite of these shortcomings it mostly works well. I have a dual-mount adapter and extension plates to accommodate my large phone holder (SlipGrip for V20/Otterbox) as well as my SiriusXM receiver and they fit the space this mount occupies without ocluding my view or the controls on the center console.

Editorial Comment: Hi Steven, thanks for the feedback! Mounting multiple large devices on the same vehicle mount may be causing the downward pressure. We would recommend to you and anyone who purchases this vehicle clip to mount only one device at a time and be sure to use the 3M adhesive tape when attaching the mount for a secure hold. Thanks!
