The Volkswagen Passat Center Dash Mount is made specifically for your Passat starting in 2020 (see compatibility tab for full list of years). The mount attaches to the center vent frame. Combine with a ProClip device holder to make a complete mounting solution for your phone or GPS. The ProClip mount clips tightly into the seams of the dash in seconds. No drilling holes or dismantling required.

Comes with a pre-drilled hole pattern for device attachment (might not be shown in photo). This is a suggested placement pattern only. A device holder can easily be attached anywhere on the face plate.

I had a pro clip mount that I installed in a Honda ridgeline that was rock solid, never moved, and worked better than I ever thought it would. So I bought this for the Passat. Definitely not the same. The clip went in easy and clicked into place. Tape never really stuck so it moves side to side. The magnet is strong. The top and bottom of the clip have very small “lips” that attach to the dash. when you remove the phone the clip comes off with it about 50% of the time. The ridgeline pro clip had the magnet directly attached to it so it was solid. The Passat magnet gets attached to a plate by ball and socket. This requires constant tightening and seems to get a little more loose each time the phone is removed. Bottom line is it does work, just be sure to use two hands when removing phone. One hand to hold the clip so it doesn’t pull out of the dash and also the magnet so it won’t flex and get loose and the other to remove the phone.
PUProClip USA12 months agoHello David, thanks for the review and repeat purchase! This VW Passat dashboard mount should be very secure after proper installation and required use of the adhesive tape. The bottom seam gets installed first and you must make sure the bottom edge gets inserted far enough that the tape is making contact with the lower vent area. Next, the top angled edge features a channel that when inserted into the top gap makes a click to alert you of proper installation. PUProClip USA7 months agoThanks for the review! This Volkswagen Passat mounting base does not attach using the vent louvers. This mount connects using the upper and lower dashboard seams where the center vent is housed.
